“But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
John 6:68 NKJV
I never really thought about this passage or those words before. “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
I spent a long time idolizing and finding joy in other things and people. At least 10 years of my life I’d say. It started out small then grew to a point where one person I idolized, I looked to specific videos of them for comfort - and it didn’t even work unless I watched over and over and had to convince myself practically sometimes.
Eternal life is something good. something great. the ability to live forever. That’s great and should bring joy. And Jesus words were the ones that brought that eternal life. That joy. That peace to both have to worry about death, or anything else for that matter.
“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
Nothing and no one else has the words or ability to give us those things - that eternal life, that joy, that peace. Nothing and no one else. So to who else or what else could we go to in pursuit of those things?
Nothing. No one.
Cause there’s no one else
